Gmail is a free email service provided by Google. Customers can sign up for an account in less than one minute and start using their account to communicate with friends, family or business contacts. If you decide to cancel your Gmail account, you can do so at any time without monetary recourse. Once you cancel your Gmail account you will not be able to use the same email address again through Gmail. Names are not used more than once, so Gmail simply deletes the account and places a block on the name forever. When you are ready to cancel your Gmail account follow these steps:

• Click on the wheel in the upper left corner just below your picture.
• Choose Settings from the drop down menu.
• Click on Accounts and Imports from the Settings page.
• Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the button to View the Previous Version.
• Click on the edit button next to the My Products heading.
• Click on the link that reads Remove Gmail Permanently.
• Follow the instructions to delete your Gmail account.
